For some of us, spring may feel like months and months away, but it’s actually just around the corner. Soon enough, it’ll be time to retire the snow boots and parkas and break out the tee shirts and shorts. With spring comes the possibility of lots of great travel, too. But what are the best gaycation destinations for spring break 2019? We've highlighted a few options below to give you some inspiration.

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Constantly ranked highly for gay travel destinations, Fort Lauderdale couldn’t be better for springtime. The town has multiple beaches with warm sand, beautiful views, and most importantly, gorgeous hunks. On top of the great oceanside, Fort Lauderdale is incredibly welcoming to the LGBT community, with plenty of gay bars, bathhouses and gay-centric beaches. Did we mention the average high in Fort Lauderdale in February is 78 degrees? Sign us up.

San Francisco, CA

San Francisco has changed a lot over the years. Quickly becoming the tech hub of the United States, it’s easy to forget some of the gay charm that San Francisco offers (and used to be known for), but it still remains one of the gayest cities in America. Home to Folsom Street Fair where you can see everything from puppy play to group sex in the street, San Francisco offers a little bit of everything for the gay community. Once home 118 gay bars, you’re sure to find something or someone to do.

New York, NY

Warm weather and beaches not for you? New York may be the place to check out, then. While a chillier option than the previous two destinations, New York is great in the spring – not too hot, but not too cold. New York is often considered the cultural center of the United States, and for good reason. Each of the five boroughs offer a completely different vibe and visiting them can feel like you’re being transported into a whole other city. Some great things to do are stroll through Central Park as trees are starting to bloom and fill out or take a trip to Chelsea or Hell’s Kitchen where the crowd is a little gayer and a lot more prone to partying. Side note, think of all the great Instagram pictures you can capture from a rooftop bar.

Chicago, IL

Chicago doesn’t immediately come to mind when you think of spring break, much less a gaycation, but there are PLENTY of reasons to check this city out. Chicago is pretty much known for it’s cold weather, and while springtime in Chicago is hardly predictable, if you catch it at the right time, the city can’t be any better. Neighborhoods like Lincoln Park are lined with trees in full bloom and there are even beaches – yes, BEACHES – all along the eastern side of the city. If you’re feeling like lying out on the beach, check out the gay beach on the north side, known as Hollywood Beach. If you’re looking to party, Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood is home to some of the best gay bars and they’re all centrally located on one street, Halsted.

Honolulu, HI

If budget allows and you don’t mind a longer plane ride, Honolulu could be the gaycation trip of a lifetime. The largest city and capital of Hawaii, located on the south shore of Hawaii’s Oahu Island, the average high in February is 81 degrees. Life seems slower in Hawaii, so if you need a little you time, this couldn’t be a better place to go. In addition to the weather and the slower pace, there are multiple gay beaches and nude beaches in and around Honolulu for you to express yourself and let your freak flag fly. If you have access to a car and don’t mind leaving the city, we can’t recommend enough going to Makapuʻu Lookout for some breathtaking views – just don’t forget to bring a camera. Trust us, you’ll want to capture everything.
