What have you learned the most about the business by having to produce your own content during COVID?
The most important thing I've learned about the business of producing my own content is finding a great editor!
What is your take on being called ethnic-related names in the bedroom during sex? BBC is a term that is often used with you…can it be racist or is it hot?
I personally don't get into being called ethnic-related names. I deal with it when it comes to clients because it's a turn-on for them, but when one gets a little crazy with the BBC name....slam their face into the bed and tell them to shut the fuck up! But I know many who are fine with someone saying BBC, Papi, and any other unnecessary names.
Your brand is Monster Cock, power top, DOM, macho daddy…etc…is that how you are in the bedroom in real life? Do your dates assume how you are going to be in the bedroom?
Most guys think I'm going to be the same as they see in porn and, yes, I can be that guy - it depends on the person. But most come to realize I'm a "power top (Southern style)", this means that I will pound the hell out of your hole and then will be all Southern bell and ask, "are you ok? Do you need a break? When did you first realize that you were bigger than other guys?
I sadly never really noticed it. A coworker I would play with pointed it out to me one night. I used to make up a number when guys would ask my size because I had never measured it at the time. We worked at a porn store at the time (I believe the name was Drakes Video Store) and the next morning at work, a couple of my co-workers measured me in the back and that's how I finally knew my real size...ha!
When did your sexuality first start to emerge?
I would say my sexuality started in my teens. Maybe when I was like 15 years old. I looked much older than I was so I would go to the local adult bookstore. That's where I learned the art of cruising.
You are seen as a macho man, did you ever fight that duality as your role as a black man, what's expected from a macho man, but also a gay man…from both sides? Too butch for the gays, too gay for the straights?
I never had to fight to be myself. I think not having my father in my life saved me from having to deal with that bullshit. He was one of those old-school Macho pimps. I remembered as a little boy he would get so angry at me for playing with my girl cousins and not wanting to play sports. My mom leaving him saved me from having to deal with my "gayness". My family accepted me for me. They never tried to make me be anything else.
What have been some of your biggest challenges in the adult industry?
The biggest for me was to find my place. I don't fit the mold of a "pornstar." Mainstream porn companies usually would be the same type of black guys. They usually were dark-skinned, smooth, and muscley. I'm lighter skin, hairy, and thick. Studios weren't knocking down my doors to book me. I had to bang on their doors to get in and I'm proud of what I've done.
What have you learned about yourself from day one in the biz?
If I want something then I will make it happen.
What was your first scene?
My first scene was with TimTales website. I really don't remember who the model was but I know he was from Brazil and it was a fun scene. But, I really tell people about my second scene (which was the next day): I filmed with this French beauty Tony Axel. That scene was fucking amazing!
