Over the past decade or so we've transformed into a society that lives to be online. Those creepy chat rooms our parents warned us about in the '90s have now become a thing of the past (and these days our parents are on them as much as we are). Ugh, if my aunt sends me one more glittery GIF I'm going to go the fuck off. Speaking of people who are too extra when it comes to posting on any and all social media platforms, let's talk about that...and you. Perhaps you too are a bit as they say, extra and need some help pulling that shit back in because honey, it's annoying as hell and everyone is talking about you behind your back because of it.

1. Constant Stories

Every second of your existence does not need some sort of vlog. Who are you, iCarly? From the second you "wake up like this" to your breakfast routine, commute to work, a boring ass work day, and your drive home it's like - we get it - you're a human too. When nothing about what you're doing is out of the ordinary, you don't have to go live with it. It's a mimosa, we've all been there, done that. Plus, when you focus so much on live streaming your life you, in turn, miss out on the umm, life part of things. Yup, all that time you waste choosing filters, putting a caption, and all that other nonsense is time you took away from actually participating in your own damn life. As much as you wish it, you are not a Kardashian and no one wants to keep up with you that much.

2. The Relationship Drama Broadcast Network

You break up with someone and post about it. Totally normal. A week, a month goes by and you're still posting the most over dramatic sentiments like you're 15 and not well over 30. It's a bit much and needs to be dealt with like the adult you are. We get it, love can be hard. As a famous song says, it truly is a battlefield--but listen, we don't need your war taking up our pages. If you need to rant about it, grab a bottle of wine, a bestie, and have a night in about it.

3. Heavy Handed Politics

Being political isn't a bad thing. We should all be woke about what the hell the government is up to. Here's where it goes from being woke to being as crazy as the grandma from Smalltown, USA that still uses problematic racial epithets...when you constantly seek out people with opinions that vary from yours and attack them for it. That makes you no less of a troll than a gang of tweens raging on Forenite. There's a way to get your political point across without sinking to new lows and being way too overbearing about it.

4. Everything's a Selfie

We all know those people. Hell, you may be part of those people. They find any and every reason to post a selfie. For example, they discover a great quote about humanity, peace, you know all that shit and instead of pairing it with a picture that makes total sense for the quote, it's just a shirtless mirror selfie. How do the two relate?? Beyond us, but this happens so damn much it's killing the quote industry. We don't really know if there is a so-called quote industry but we'd assume if there was, it'd be in shambles because of the asinine selfies paired with quotes that dish out unearned inspo.

5. Negative Nancy

On the flip side from the "inspirational" selfies, there's the Negative Nancys. OMFG. These may just be the worst people to have ever existed online. They see their friends posting about this and that and two seconds later here comes Nancy with a permanent scowl on their face posting about how horrible this and that is. Contrarians (SAT word FTW) are definitely some of if not the most annoying people to have ever logged on. It's like they live for making people feel like absolute shit about breathing.
