It is one of the most celebrated day among the gays so here are 6 things that every gay man should know before going into this Halloween so you’re up to par with your pals.
1. It’s the BIGGEST holiday of the year
Christmas? Thanksgiving? No… It’s Halloween. No matter how busy your life is, you best carve time and pumpkins for the occasion. It is an event that unites all gays and deserves to be celebrated much more frequently. However, since it is only once a year, it is of utmost importance that you prioritize the October 31st evening festivities over all else.
2. Takes eternity to figure out what costume to wear
Because it is the biggest day of the year, it takes time to find just the right outfit for the occasion. Choosing between a sexy farmer, a sexy nerd, or a sexy literally anything is quite difficult. You must choose the right balance between wearing practically nothing and having people recognize your outfit so you can start a conversation about it. Although you might spend hours deciding on an outfit, you’ll inevitably regret your outfit at some point during the night. However, you mustn’t look back! It is what it is and just slay with what you’ve got.
3. Live out your fantasy
Halloween is the day. If you want to dress as a master or as a bad student, it is acceptable to take your bedroom fantasies to the party with confidence. Although generally, people do not and should not criticize eccentric fantasies, Halloween is the night you’re encouraged to live out your wildest dreams. Be bold and go with what you think you deserve to be. You might even get lucky if someone happens to share the same fantasy as you.
4. Less is more
This is a no-brainer. However, we must remind each other that when it comes to your outfit, less is more. Less clothes means more exposure to your beautiful skin. You want to emphasize you and be comfortable in your skin. This is a time to challenge the norm of what is beautiful because your body should be the only one defining your beauty. Take a stance against social norms and show off whatever treasures you’ve got.
5. Impossible to tell friends from couples with matching costumes
This is a tough one. If you decide to do a matching costume with your best friend, you might ward off potential mates because they would confuse you for being in a relationship. On the other hand, matching with your significant other(s) can be a great alternative to wearing a chastity belt.
6. Consent is sexy
Make sure there’s consistent consent in the room. Whatever you choose to do, do not inadvertently invade people’s spaces without their consent. Halloween is a night of high rewards, but it can also come with great danger if there exists miscommunication. Make sure everyone is having fun!
