If you’re stuck in a rut in your current locale because of one thing or another, mostly that you don’t feel like you can be your most fabulous self then do we have great news for you! There is a multitude of LGBTQ friendly cities out there waiting to embrace you, all of you!

San Francisco

In case you're new to earth, may we introduce you to San Francisco. If you can afford to live in one of the most expensive cities in the world, you can also live in one of the most gay-friendly cities out there. While the entire city is great, the Castro district is where it's at when it comes to the heart of the LGBTQ community within the Golden Gate city.

New Orleans

Don't let this being deep in the south deter you from the magic that is New Orleans. The French Quarter is buzzing with a vibrant LGBTQ community with various clubs, theaters, and organizations that have many flocking to be a part of it.

Amsterdam

Did you know The Netherlands was the first country to legalize gay marriage? Yup! That's because in no way should the government have a say when it comes to two grown adults saying "I do." With that, it's clear that the LGBTQ community is widely supported in a place like Amsterdam.

West Hollywood

Just like San Francisco, West Hollywood has become synonymous in the LGBTQ realm. While Los Angeles as a whole is wildly liberal in how they view the world, it's in West Hollywood where one can feel like part of a tight-knit community. Plus, it's one of the nicest parts of LA county! You can't beat that!

New York City

No matter who you are or what you believe, NYC has a community for you somewhere in that cast concrete jungle. From club kids to activists to those who've settled down and just want to typical 9-5 life with a partner and kids. It's all there and glorious.

Portland

Known for its small-town feel in a city and its immaculate nature, Portland is one of the West Coast's best. It also happens to be a place where people can find a real sense of community in the LGBTQ scene. And if Portland is too much for you, you can try just about any other city in Oregon as it's one of the best states for LGBTQ folks!

Buenos Aires

We often hear a lot about South American politics around the world that shocks, but in 2010 Buenos Aires legalized gay marriage and continues to be very progressive about LGBTQ issues. So if you're looking to go international, look into relocating to Argentina.

Palm Springs

We just had to put another California hot spot on the list because while it's expensive as hell to live there, it's a wonderful place that can't be ignored. Often regarded as the city "gays retire to," Palm Springs is just as exciting for the youths as well. With a more laid back nightlife scene and picturesque desert sunsets, it could be the next place you call home.

Austin

Just because it's in Texas, doesn't mean it can't be LGBTQ friendly. The must-see art and music scene has made this a haven for creative, open-minded types from all over the world. Making it an acceptable place to build a lasting foundation.

Providence

Once a year LGBTQ members head out to Providence because it's one of the BEST Pride events in the world. Yeah, I know...Rhode Island? As surprising as it is to some, those in the know realized long ago how great it was and continue to head back annually. Here's the thing though, Providence is amazing all freaking year-round.
