He stopped by for this Andrew Christian exclusive to chat about the industry, his love for sex, and coming out.

How did you get into the porn industry?

I found my way into the porn industry by creating a profile on sexyjobs.com.

How did you come up with your porn name?

I always loved the name Jax so that was easy. Thirío is the Greek word for “beast” which was a nickname of mine and a tribute to my Greek heritage. I later learned that the name Jax in Greek is Hyacinthus. Hyacinthus was a Spartan prince of extraordinary beauty and the lover of the god Apollo.

What did you learn about the biz from filming your first scene?

All I knew for sure after my first scene was that I liked it and I wanted more.

Do people recognize you on the street, if so, how does that feel?

In the last year, I have started getting recognized more and more and it’s a strange feeling. I have fun with it, and I like being known…it makes me feel like I’m doing something right.

How has filming porn changed your real-life sex life?

I don’t think filming porn has changed my real sex life much, but it is important to maintain some balance between the two. For me, that’s easy because I’m an extremely sexual and horny person. If anything, porn has enriched my personal sex life.

What is your coming-out story?

I was always attracted to guys, but I grew up in a very religious and conservative home. My father was a preacher and taught at the private Christian school I attended through 8th grade. Around that time, I got caught experimenting sexually with my best friend, and the events that followed were traumatic. I was beaten and made to feel ashamed. My friend and his family moved away within weeks, and I would never see him again. I was locked deep in the closet, confused and ashamed and hurting. I think looking back I may have overcompensated a little from there. In high school I was a jock, and maintained a tough-guy image, ready to fight anyone anywhere. After a failed year of college, I joined the Army. Four more years of testosterone and aggression and sexual repression, my true self still locked deep inside. When I finished my contract with the Army, I moved to Nashville TN. Only meaning to stay for a couple of months before moving out West, I somehow found myself married with two kids to take care of instead. After a few years, I was miserable and bored, so I found a new career that was dangerous and exciting, and I threw myself into it, spending most of my time away from home. After 10 years of marriage, my wife left me and filed for divorce. The next weeks were rough. I was depressed and angry and quit caring about anything. But when my whole life seemed to be falling apart, I realized I could be free. I could just be who I am, not who I was supposed to be or who anyone else wanted me to be. I snuck around for about a year, hooking up with guys on the DL. I remember being terrified about being outed but wanting to come out so bad. Finally, just before Christmas 2018, my ex called me one night. She was drunk and crying, begging me to take her back, and I knew I had to tell her the truth. I told her we couldn’t get back together because I’m gay, and I’m ready to be true to myself. She didn’t take it well and I was surer than ever that I would lose all of my friends and be rejected by my family when they found out, but I didn’t care anymore. I quit my job at the end of the year and one by one started telling my close friends. With each person who accepted me, I grew more confident and started to be excited to tell them. I had true friends in my life that loved me for me and just wanted me to be happy, and now I knew that more than ever. I created a profile on sexyjobs.com at the end of that month and would get my first shoot booked in a week.

How do you prepare for a day of filming?

What I must do to prepare for a shoot varies greatly depending on what type of filming we are doing that day and if I’m producing or directing or just modeling. As a model, I keep to my normal routine as much as possible. Wake up early, get coffee and then work out, shower, and get ready to go on camera. The only other thing I do is read over the script till I feel comfortable with it.

Do you prefer studio work or self-produced content?

I love both studio and self-produced content but if I had to pick one, I think I like studio work best.

Who has been a favorite co-star?

I’ve had so many amazing costars it’s hard to choose but Michael Boston will always be at the top.

Are you single?

I am currently in a relationship.

Things you look for most in a partner?

I look for a partner who loves me as I am, someone who is honest and who supports what I’m doing.

Last show you binged watched?

The last show I binged watched is called Hacks.

Craziest sex story?

There are a few sex stories that might seem crazy to some but I’m not sure how crazy they really are… most recently I was in Palm Springs for Leather Pride and Pride and I had several experiences that were amazingly hot and wild but the climax for me was getting fucked by my daddies RC and Digger and 4 of their friends in the middle of a club towards the end of Pride. It was so hot getting passed around and used while everyone watched it…it was euphoric, to say the least.

If I were to design a pair of Andrew Christian underwear it would be a jockstrap with bright colors cuz I love jockstraps and anything that gets attention.
