While prostitution may be illegal in the U.S. (with the exception of those few counties in Nevada), sex work has certainly been on the up and up in recent years. With the help of a plethora of amateur content creator sites and hook-up apps, people have been using what they’ve got, to get what they want in a much more honest way. I mean, it is the oldest profession in the world after all — we should make it more widely accepted.

So there’s no surprise that the dating culture tends to have a lot of folks selling their goods to those that are willing to buy. It’s no different than the “Male for Male masseuse” ads that were once placed on popular sites or in the back of certain magazines. Now, they’re just on apps. Back in the day, you knew a guy was trying to sell some cock or ass if he placed a “massage” ad and specifically asked for “roses” — which was code talk for money. Now, sex workers describe it as “Generous”. How “Gen” are you willing to be, a.k.a how much money will you pay to have sex with me? But there’s a lot that you have to be on the look out for if you choose to engage with one of these “gen only” type of profiles. Here are some things to expect:

SCAMMING/CATFISHING

This is one of the biggest things that you have to be cautious of. Catfishing on these apps occur in general, but they tend to intensify when people are trying to sell sexual services. When trading/asking for pictures — make sure they send more than one pic so that you can confirm it’s them. If they’re selling goods, they should have no issue proving that it is in fact their identity. If they give any push back, that’s a major red flag. Most apps feature a video option, so live chat with them to confirm as well. Some people will also say that they require a deposit upfront. Do not send these people any money upfront! I’ve heard countless stories where people would send a deposit to a “gen only” profile and the user would then block them or delete their own profile. Don’t let your desire to get dicked down make you foolish and gullible.

And finally, if it looks to good to be true, 9 times out of 10 it is. Yes there are obviously attractive people in this world, but if the pics are flawless and the scenario being painted just seems to be like it’s out of a fairytale story — chances are it’s complete and utter bullshit.

ON THEIR TERMS

Be prepared to play on their terms. While some sex workers pushing these “gen only” profiles can be laid back, the majority of them come across as demanding and slightly arrogant. There’s usually a laundry list of rules. They have demands as if it’s a rider for a rockstar’s greenroom. You can expect to either host or travel (usually depending on what’s more accommodating for them), cab requests and sexual do’s and don’ts. They may not kiss or they don’t like oral. Don’t rule anything out when you’re intentionally willing to pay one of these guys. And for heaven’s sake, do not let them record you during your meet-up, even if there’s “no face”. So you’re paying them, while allowing them to record content? That’s what we call a “collab”, you shouldn’t have to pay for that.

YOU CLEAN?

Which is a term that should absolutely be abolished from gay culture! Just so we’re clear, asking if someone is “clean” is offensive. There are surely other words in multiple languages that you can use to ask if someone is STD free. But while we’re here, this conversation may come up. Some may even ask to see your proof or paperwork. One thing to keep in mind is that if them searching for “gen only” is their side hustle, they may have a very active sex life with multiple different strangers — so it gets a bit more risky in the STD department, be it oral or anal.

If you make the choice to engage with a “gen only” profile, that’s on you. But it doesn’t have to be a bad experience and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Yes, there are things that you have to look out for. But once you go down that checklist, you feel comfortable with the situation and you’re willing to part ways with your cash — adjust your mindset so that you can get into it. Whether you’re just really horny or you have a crush on a certain sex worker and this is your chance to meet them, think of it as you’re paying for an experience. You know what you signed up for so try to enjoy every single moment of it, if you do end up connecting with someone. Yes it’s transactional but it’s not just about that person making a coin, you’re paying for a service so don’t be afraid to remind them of that if things aren’t quite going how you expected it. You paid good money hunny, you better get that nut. Be safe and have fun.
