Anyone else get the feeling that politics weren’t so life or death before? Like America didn’t feel like a scene from ‘American Horror Story’ right? Now we’re in the middle of the episode of ‘Cult’ with a dash of ‘Coven’ and a pinch of ‘Asylum’ heading towards ‘Apocalypse.’ America is in shambles and the only way we’re going to get out of it is by getting political with it. Now more than ever we’re being urged to get the hell out there and vote and in the words of the one and only Ms. Hilton, that’s hot. No one could have convinced me growing up that one day my hormones would go from being sent into hyperdrive by a boy band gyrating on MTV to being turned on by the likes of late-night hosts breaking down the latest political drama from the previous week. That’s because when you get older, you start to realize that politics matter and if we ignore that sentiment well, we end up with a reality show host with zero experience being the leader of the supposed free world. Yes, only in America can a trust fund kid who probably couldn’t even follow ‘Schoolhouse Rock’s’ “I’m Just a Bill” be elected President of the United States. Ah, the American Dream. I mean, a nightmare. The reality we’re currently living in is dismal, but there are glimmers of hope and they come from those who are going above and beyond. The people who are spending their extra time phone banking, text banking, handing out fliers. Those people could be placed on the “Sexiest People Alive” list right now and most of us wouldn’t argue because while it’s easy to sit and tweet your thoughts on politics, it’s sexy to get your ass involved in, even in the most minor way because being aware of what’s happening in your country and pushing things forward to make the world a better place, is there anything more attractive? While some celebrities have spent their year renting private islands for birthdays and seeing their deceased loved one via hologram, others have used their popularity to encourage people to get to the polls. Whether that’s voting early by posting pictures of themselves at their local ballot boxes, or in-person - every little bit counts. There are even famous faces who’ve reunited to urge voters in swing states to swing in the direction of sanity. Not only are we inspired, but frankly we’re a little turned on by it all because it shows that they aren’t just rich people living lavish lives, but fellow citizens who want the best for all. And let’s be real, we’re going to remember who was out there getting political and who was well, not. While some celebrities have spent their year renting private islands for birthdays and seeing their deceased loved one via hologram while being married to a man who feels he is 100% qualified to run for president, others have used their popularity to encourage people to get to the polls. And let’s be real, we’re going to remember who was out there getting political and who was well, not. It’s not just the famous though, people all over the country are mobilizing to make the world a better place and in the long run, we’re noticing, we’re appreciating it, and we’re here to say that there is absolutely nothing sexier than someone who is not only well-informed but who goes above and beyond to ensure that democracy doesn’t fall by the wayside. Just the thought of voting this election is getting me HORNY AF!
