In today’s digital age it is easy to get a hold of anyone at any given moment. We can text, DM, email, Snap, FaceTime, and heck–even give the traditional phone call if we need to touch base. But with so many options to get a hold of someone that also means there are many options for people to get a hold of you and sometimes you just don’t want to be bothered.

It’s really quite easy to press on ‘MUTE’, turn your phone to silent, or click on the almighty ‘BLOCK’ to end those conversations once and for all. You know the feeling. When that guy you’ve been talking to suddenly ghosts you and before you know it you’ve been BLOCKED. At least you think you are!

Here are four things to do if you think you’ve been blocked so you can learn once and for all if he’s over you.

Check social media

On Instagram - If the account is private and you can't find it, you've likely been blocked. If the account is public, and when visiting their page you can't see their profile image, post count, follower count, or following count, and the photo grid area reads "No Posts Yet," you have definitely been blocked. Sorry, babe.

On Twitter - It’s much easier and direct. Once you open their profile, if you're being blocked, you won't see their tweets. Instead, you'll see a message that says "You're blocked. You can't follow or see Tweets.” The modern day farewell kiss.

On Facebook - This one has a few more ways to find out if you’ve been blocked. You may notice they’re not on your Friends List, you can’t tag them in your posts, you may not be able to invite them to an event or group, you won’t be able to see their posts on your feed, you won’t be able to find the person in a search, you won’t be able to send them messages through Messenger, and you won’t be able to see their profile page at all. Yeah, you’re Facebook official now.

Try calling or texting

If you get a notification similar to "Message Not Delivered" or you get no notification at all, that's a sign of a potential block. If you try calling the person and the call goes right to voicemail or you get a partial ring then goes to voicemail, that's further evidence you may have been blocked. But who calls anyone anymore these days?

Go on ‘the apps’

When you've been blocked on a hook up app, it looks as if the other person has left the platform and any linked profile has been deleted (but it hasn't, they just don’t want to engage with you anymore). If you must be sure, find a friend who also has a profile, and have that person look for the person in question. You may even want to start an alt account to confirm once and for all that ‘he’s just not that into you’.

Pay them a visit

If all else fails and you want to know why you’ve been blocked in every other way, pay that bitch a visit to inquire. If you get slammed with a restraining order then you can absolutely confirm that you have been blocked. Take the hint!
