Why Is Swallowing So Much Better?

A friend of mine, who’s slept with more men than Samantha from SATC and Liberace put together, is used to saying, “There are two types of men - those who want their lover to swallow, and those who want their lover to swallow… but just won’t admit it.” With my modest personal knowledge of the subject matter, I can only sit down and contemplate the truthfulness of that statement. Here are some of my thoughts on it.

Spit or swallow? Ask the ancients.

Sex should not feel like coercion to do something you find hurtful, humiliating, or disgusting. By this simple logic, no man should force оr expect his partner to swallow his sperm. Yet, many guys do it. But have you ever wondered why they (and probably you, too!) insist so much?

Obsession with this bodily fluid has deep cultural, ritualistic, and historical roots. We know for a fact that in ancient Mesopotamia god Enki was associated with semen, and therefore with fertility. In Ancient Egypt, they’d organize friendly male masturbation contests, and the loser got to be fed with the other guys' jizz as a punishment. In Ancient Greece, fellatio was known as “playing the flute,” and was widely practiced. The first complete love manual in human history, the Kama Sutra, has a whole chapter dedicated to the art of oral sex. Early Christians would consume semen as a communion ritual because they believed it is the embodiment of the soul, only in a liquid form.

So, the question is not that much spit or swallow, but rather what subconscious, anthropology-rooted motives make us follow in the steps of our ancestors.

The psychology of jizz

According to psychologists, semen has mind control and mood-boosting properties besides its purely biological ones. On the one side, accepting one’s sperm in your mouth can be read as a sign of submissiveness and gratitude. The dom feels like he is in control - he is aroused by the sight of someone’s on their knees sucking them gently and accepting their "gift" gladly and with awe. The whole performance resembles very much the social ritual of offering and receiving a tip for a work well done.

On the other hand, due to some of its ingredients, semen acts similarly to an antidepressant. When taken orally, though, these ingredients would hardly survive the stomach acids. So, a more plausible and simple explanation of why someone would let you cum into their mouth is the very sexiness of the act. When you care for someone so deeply that you want to become a spiritual and physical whole with them, the only thing you can do to fulfill this craving (without having to kill them and eat their body parts!) is to ingest a small part of them through their bodily fluids.

Not two taste alike

There’s no denying that oral sex is far more intimate than actual penetration! But when you’re giving head to a penis owner, eventually there comes that moment of tension when he’s just about to reach complete elation, and your thoughts start racing. Will he feel disappointed and rejected if you spit? And if you swallow, how his cum gonna taste? Just like dicks, semen flavor varies from one person to another.
